OJ, good to have you back at SI.

your take on the market parallels, Jim Cramer at Street, com. He too thinks the funds will sell off the losers big time. yesterday ITEQ, down to 4, from 15, preannounced third quarter not to meet estimates and fell to 2 1/2 on heavy volume. the funds bailed on this. it was a previously well liked small cap. Hammered !! this will continue . no use to wait till year end to close out.
also sunday nite Cramer had an article relating this market with the slow bleeding of 1990. he feels only drugs and utilities will be immune from major pullbacks.

The only thing that i disagree with either of you on, is that there are silver bullets out there that neither you nor i can predict, that will ultimately end the downward spiral. Human nature does not like to see declines that effect peoples well being. Greenspan making a deal with Japan, for example could change things on a dime. anyway your thoughts are well respected and between you and Ike, i've done much better at preserving capital than , how i was blindsided in october of 97. i've gone to buying stock long and buying twice as
many slightly out of the money puts, which allows me to sleep at nite without being all cash and still in the market.
