I own Japan only because I think it is near a bottom (it went into its funk in 1990--it will be the first out of this worldwide recession) and the stocks are cheap on a historical basis. Additionally, I think the dollar has topped out so I want the appreciation of the Yen which has been risng recently after getting trashed by the shorts. However, I don not expect dramatic appreciation in Jap stocks any time soon. But they won't be dropping like US equities either. IMO, DELL will drop MUCH more than the DOW. Yes, I would short DELL. Short and hold. Look to cover late next year in single digits. -Lucretius
