Hyundai, LG agree to merge semiconductor units: Yonhap

SEOUL (AFX-ASIA)- Hyundai Group and LG Group have agreed to merge Hyundai
Electronics Industries Co Ltd and LG Semicon Ltd, Yonhap News Agency said
quoted the Federation of Korean Industries as saying.
A new company will be formed, it said.

The FKI confirmed that Hyundai and LG have agreed in principle to merge
their semiconductor units into a new entity, but with management control and
stake holdings to be determined later.
"They agreed in principle to merge and form a new company," a FKI
spokesman said.
"However, they have not agreed as to how to adjust management control and
stakes. Such details will be determined later," he said
