RE: The chemical assistance, it has no basis in swinging a bat and hitting a baseball. The skills required to accomplish this are quite varied with strength only a small portion of it. The Hand & eye coordination, timing of the hips and swing and years of practice play a much bigger part. I have used supplements myself in the past and it only helps with the building of muscle. The skills required to hit a 90+ fastball or god forbid a curveball are much much more than muscle. Mac has proven to me that he plays the game for fun and not money. He had the opportunity to play for a larger market at more money and turned it down. He has a very active youth program that he works at very hard. Don't get me wrong, I love Sammy as well, and I hope he or Mac both get rewarded for breaking a 37 year old record.

On another matter, a prayer for the families of the crashed Jetliner are in order!

two things on the homer chase:
1) sosa was found guilty of using a corked bat before.
2) chicago is a MUCH easier place to hit homers than st. louis.

having said that, i hope both of them hit more than 61. it's
fun...- bob
