Jon for someone who knows better then believing everything you read, you should know better. As you know Im in the Art business(primarily) I can tell you that busness is booming(witha capital B). In 1988,1989,1990 I had some of my best years(after crash and real estate market fall) Though stock market corections effect luxury business in the longer term, they have little imidiate affect. The people who really have a lot of money have a little less. They still spend! If this is a quick downturn and a return up it will have no effect. If its a long and protracted downturn then it would be troubelsome. I was actually interviewed by CNN today on this very subject. I put on my New york grin and told the reporter what im telling you. However I really, Really hope im right! In any case most people are still being paid well and are not loosing jobs. American consumers want to spend and most will find an excuse to.
