What about Jack's own offshore dealings? How, I wonder, did he come to borrow half a million dollars from the bank on the Isle of Jersey? I mean, you don't just walk in and say Hey! Lend me half a mil!

Did he have an account there? If so, why? Did he pay U.S. taxes on it? Does he currently have any offshore accounts?

In this case the bank just might--though I have no real idea--be willing to talk, since he evidently defaulted on the loan....
