PS: if you believe as I do, that the Canadian dollar will eventually make a comeback(ie.,commodities will also comeback up),it creates a nice hedge against possible Canadian stock price declines,if you own Canadian stocks..of course the ball could bounce the other way,as it has for the past year<g>But currency is bouncing off its lows(1.00Can=.6314US).Is now the time to increase Canadian holdings?-not sure yet,but global flight to quality Can. bonds(partially due to the interest rate increase) isn't hurting.DD

DD, looks like no one wants to hold their shares over the long weekend, specially and in light of the events taking place in Russia.

Regarding your comments on the improvement in the Canadian dollar, what would the effect be on the Canadian dollar if Greenie drops the US interest rates ? Would that put Canada back to square one ?
