Several interesting articles appear in Korean Herald (friday edition)
free on the internet. Articles suggest that IMF and the US will take exception in the proposed merger given that the merging companies are looking to its creditor banks and the Korean Government for major debt write-offs, debt restructuring and tax reductions. Official from Samsung noted that the merger will not necessarily bring about any synergy.
