This seems to be getting a little off topic. I know that this
thread tends to wander around a bit, and one of the reasons I
read it is because I never know what I'll find here. But even
when the discussions get heated, they have generally been polite.
So let's try to avoid acrimonious political arguments, okay?

Feudal capitalism and Global free market capitalism are founded
upon the same basic tenets.

Anyone who thought you could throw a switch and change Soviet style
market economy and make it into a US style is a fool.

Throwing billions of dollars at the problem did not work either.

When the base of your industrial production is military
(USSR,N Korea,US of the 80's) changing a ship's direction mid stream
is impossible.

Don't get me wrong. I think China's take it slow approach is prudent.
Especially in light of the current world market conditions.
The people screaming loudest about
China's slowness in opening their markets are the people who are
clammoring to get in and exploit it first.
