e-mail: Puts & Index Options, Brokerages...CXIPY (Out of CCI 10 3/4) Index Puts vs. Stock Puts Still would have been easier trading the OEX puts today exclusively. I prefer to trade them but I thought the internets would give some good gains, perhaps if I had gotten into AMZN and YHOO last night, but today for me it was fruitless. Except for CCI and the index option puts, the gains on the other puts were negligible.. Brokerages.. the global markets effect their bottom line, so I'll pass on the them for a while. DLJ, and MER although they protest they still have 'financial strength' I don't see it how they can. Also look at HQ today. They might be good for a bounce in a day or so, but I wouldn't stay in them for anything longer than a swing trade, if that. CXIPY.. Always bullish on that but always seem to miss it. I think it's because the entire sector is far from heart from now on. I think that as a long term hold CXIPY is probably one of the best bets out there besides CDG/FLC merger. I never 'recommend' a stock flat out, or say tomorrow or next week it will be up if you buy. I leave that to the hypsters. You can really mess up that way. But earnings on CXIPY are tremendous, big backlog and they are number one in their field. At this price, I like it. Today the sector is moving and I might give it a shot. When earnings came out it was on a 3 day winning streak.
