I never said it means that. However, it could be argued that the CSCO founders were not experienced business people, they saw a chance to cash in big and did it. They did keep some stock though for years.

Current professional management ARE business people, not poor professors. If they thought stock is undervalued relative to Co. long-term prospects, they would never sell significant fraction of their stakes. Just like Bill Gates did not sell much for a long while, or other Cos. top managers ...

It's just a question of relative valuation.

There are many and many reasons the insiders sell the stocks.
