Rumor: I just heard a rumor that Pairgain and Advanced Fibre (AFCI) were in the process of merging. This is only A RUMOR. It has not been confirmed by anybody. Take it as such. This might already be an old rumor for some of you--I'm not sure. Just thought it was interesting. Any Comments? Kevin

Regarding ADSL. They are one of over 40 ADSL competitors in a market that doesn't exist yet. PAIR's all time high was 44 and change, not 100, and the stock price has been on a steady decline since March of 97. You haven't told me anything new yet. How can a higher price be justified based upon fundamentals. Their market is eroding and they have no new products to sell in the near term. there is a 99% chance their next qtr will show more declining margins and profits and marketshare. Where is their growth going to come from? --Dave
