Did you know that Christ's Church is an "organized" religion? Oh, yeah, do I ever. However, I don't consider myself a "Christian". If I were to consider myself aligned with any particular religion, I would have to claim to be Jewish. I believe that Jesus was a good man of great moral character and a great teacher. Period. What is the defination of an agnostic? Could it be a 40 year old yuppie ,used to be hippie, who by his own working is totally self sufficient with no need for a savior? I'm not quite 40 yet, and I'm about as far from a hippie as one can be. I consider myself to be fiscally and morally conservative, with Libertarian tendencies. I mostly vote Republican. However, I do feel no need for a spiritual "savior". Why is it every "agnostic" has the idea the Christian faith is a murderous faith. Okay, I admit that I only showcased the bad side. Christians have done many, many great things. So have many Muslims, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus. However, many, many wars and pogroms have been waged solely on being "righteous". The Crusades and the Inquisition pop immediately into mind. The Israeli Jews haven't been that sweet to their neighbors and the various Muslim sects haven't even been that nice to each other. I guess we're all just talking animals after all.I see perfect strangers on these threads get run down and talked about like they were idiots, because they believe in God and His Son Jesus. I hope I haven't done that, as it surely wasn't my intention to denigrate anyone. If you can freely believe with a glad heart, I'm very happy for you. I also don't believe that one need follow a religion blindly, with no room for dissension. this the bunch you are talking about when you say Christians are out for the fast buck, and murderers, and rapists I've re-read my message and I can't seem to find where I said that. I assume you're speaking to a broader audience. When I said that murder, theft, torture and rape had been done in the name of God, I should have said Jahweh, Allah, Buddha and/or Vishnu. I wasn't specifically referring to the Christian God, although most of the Anglo-saxon audience would certainly read it that way. Remember, there is more than one religion in this big world of ours.
