Thanks the peg reference threw me off. I am familiar with the mini-band as it has fluctuated in the 116 range since long before the privatization. The fast erosion has been a matter of concern and I wasn't aware it was in the 117-118 range. Steve and I, and others have had a difference of opinion on the devaluation possibility for sometime. I continue to hope that he will be right. Never forget that the monroe doctrine has always been more than a show of force between the americas and the rest of the world. In the end we will stand with our trading partner, brazil. The real question will be what difference that will make? It would have helped to have a captain we have more confidence in at the helm in this crisis.

It appears that the nasdaq 1500 level is solidifying. The dow 7600 survives today. How many will want to carry their portfolio home again this long weekend?
Most statements for individuals will be arriving over the weekend and this coming week. After seeing in writing the ravages on their portfolios, will the avg. investor still be willing to hold their stocks as they lose value? I understand it will be a long weekend. What will tomorrow bring?

DOW, 7682 close, range 7578-7781
Nas, 1571 close, range 1552-1589

Best to all, rdk
