Well Dan I don't know but I don't think I trust Mary Jo much on this one. Why you ask - well she seems to make connections that if you only read here article connect Microsoft to the Independent Institute. If you actually take the time to look at the works of this Institute it is pretty broad in scope. They may not agree with you politics but it seems very unlikely that they could somehow be a Microsoft mole or plant. The Institute has been around since 1986 and has published many papers on wide ranging subjects. It seems to be a fairly respectable institution. Have you checked it out or did you just forward along Mary Jo's opinion without any legwork of your own. I tend to fall on the pro-MSFT side but I am also a skeptic by nature so I like to check this stuff out. Larry...
