How stupid of our glorious leaders to permit this erosion of reserves, especially when you consider that up till a year or so ago we were well on the way to becoming the planetary centre of mining finance and expertise. It's just shooting yourself in the foot, undermining the moral support of a major industry for a few paltry millions in paper. Twenty years ago we had a troy ounce per capita, now less than a tenth of an ounce.
