Interesting little commentary from "Gimme Credit" on BA's bonds.

Bad Time For a Buyback (Gimme Credit on Boeing)
"So, Boeing (Aa3/AA), your mega merger thus far has brought you little but grief (and billions in charges), your backlog is stagnant, your major customers are in an imploding region of the world, your competitor is putting pricing pressure on you, and your deteriorating cash flow has eroded your customarily strong cash balances: What are you going to do now? Why, we're going to buy back nearly five billion of our stock, of course! Needless to say, we consider this radical change in financial policy a bad omen for Boeing's bondholders." Full report, dated September 2, 1998 from Gimme Credit.

Anyone know when Airbus is going to actually have to worry about shareholders? I've heard for years that they are losing money left and right, and that the Europeans plan to privatize it, but it seems that there has been no progress on that front. Anything I'm missing?
