I know exactly what I'm talking about. There was no affair. It was so ridiculous, the Duke people wouldn't even use it. But not your leader. He let loose with in it 92 and got egg on his face.

Like many Clinton stories, this one is a myth.

<<Bill, you simply don't know what you're talking about.>>

The day you prove me wrong about any of these issues you ought to go out and bet Powerball.

Until then, stop perpetuating myths.

<<Why is it when we get to Democrats (Gary Hart, Bill Clinton, Henry Cisneros) it's suddenly fair game?>>

George Bush - rumour from opposing candidate's camp - no other proof (I don't remember this one too well, so I'm only quoting previous posts)

Bill Clinton - admission of affair

Gary Hart - photograph of girl on his lap out on the boat

Cisneros - no idea

Do you see the difference here? Hart dared the press to go after him, so they did. Clinton was being investigated because his Attorney General had felt there was enough evidence of wrongdoing to warrant an Independent Counsel investigation. George Bush was being accused by his political opponents. You can try to say that about Clinton as well, but the decision to investigate was made by Clinton's Attorney General, not by the Republicans.

Weren't the attacks on Hart, Clinton, and Cisneros initially launched by rival Democrats during the Democratic primaries? You can't really pin these on Republicans. The process starts with party primaries in which rivals sling it good at each other. Neither party is clean.
