Skeet, AMG Data says $1.94 billion of outflows. That's on top of $2.something billion last week. Well, looks like the little guy/gal isn't buying DIS DIP. I wonder if the COMMONMAN is.

That is an important figure to watch - the out-flows have not accelerated - have decreased from the previous week. Money has been flowing into equities funds at the rate of (if I remember right) 14-21 billion per month. So this is a net loss of new money of about $20B. On the positive cash-flow side, companies are purchasing back their stock at high levels and the pace of mergers v. IPOs is reducing overall stock in the market. Insiders have been purchasing stock at a healthy, if not high rate. The rate of insider sales six-nine months ago was high - an early indicator that that was the time to get out or go short on many stocks that are now "beaten down". I take this as a 3-6 month leading indicator of a market turn around -when used with other indicators it can warn of major market moves.

There is a fair chance that the market will re-test the previous lows or even head lower. I don't think we are in a major bear market but it is dicey enough not to be net long except for short-term (2-3 week) time horisons.

If the mutual fund flows accelerate so that there are substantial out-flows, then the market will be under increasing pressure.
