More e-mail.. and on approaching our 14,000th post. I can't believe how many ask me how much they think a stock will appreciate and in what time frame. Anyone who will 'volunteer' to tell you that stock will appreciate 20, 30 or 50% is just looking for that moment of awe his statement invokes in you. Perhaps that thrills them. I've heard so many educated and informed financial minds admit they don't know that much about what will happen, yet the hypster on SI, YHOO or AOL message board knows! Or the ones sending me all that e-mail. I've gotten e-mail telling me a stock was going up 25% in 1 week! Or a bulletin board stock would be up 500%. or a certain tech stock that tanked would be up 25% in a week only to watch it be cut yet again in half. I don't claim to read everything or know hypsters, or their real motives but only make an educated guess. These are trying times. Sometimes for lack of an alternative or trading strategy, you might be tempted to lend credence to these hypsters for hope of easy profit! Please hold back. Dont' buy any stock unless you've carefully checked it out. It really isn't that hard. With the internet at your disposal you can check the fundmentals and technicals of most stocks.. If you can't find it, it's not worth finding. Check the credentials of the person hyping the stock.. Chances are they are not able to be checked. Check their track record. chances are there isn't any. What I've read in the boards of YHOO are even worse, beside the awful language and disdain some have for each other. ... That's why I thank all of you for keeping this thread so professional and informative. For nearly 14,000 posts there has rarely been more than a handful of detractors, hypists or just people who like to incite trouble just out of malice. We've come a long way..
