You accept the bible as a factual source, much like an encyclopedia.

I do not.

I accept it as a heavily-edited, politically charged collection of letters, many of which are partially or entirely fictional. Jerome's Latin Vulgate bible and the politically influenced King James version have quite a number of differences. If you remember enough high school Latin, it makes for an interesting read.
