The funniest thing was when I saw Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank on television, saying that he felt Clinton was wrong to have had an improper relationship with "that woman."

I thought, "Yeah, Frank probably wants Clinton for himself."

Who are some of the other bigshots in the Democratic party right now? I.e., who would agree to serve as Algore's V.P., if Clinton does resign? It's a significant question, as Gore himself may be indicted for taking money from China. We might end up with a relative unknown serving as president for 2000, and then a different person elected in that year. Have we ever had four different presidents in a three-year period?

Hank, think of the fear in Congress right now, at least on one side of the aisle (the other side just smells fear). Terrorists blowing up embassies, nuclear tests in south Asia, Iraq testing UN/US resolve and finding none (did you see the WSJ column today by ex-weapons inspector Scott Ritter?), Russia in turmoil, North Korea shooting missiles over Japan, but most importantly (the complete line was "it's the economy, stupid"), the stock market is forecasting a recession. Both sides of the aisle, rightly or wrongly (would that be leftly?), will blame Bill. Focusing on his obvious character flaws now and distancing themselves from him is the obvious choice for members of both parties seeking reelection.

JMO,
Bob

Your analysis has a lot of merit, as usual. But what does it say
about the American people that the willingness to apply moral
standards varies with the DJIA?
