"Where did you acquire such tremendous faith?"
What faith are you referring to?

" Your faith allows you to discount the obvious evidence that God indeed exists"
Which god? Who's god? Do you dare presume there is only one? Proof please, not heresy.

"Perhaps you have drawn your conclusion based on your interpretation of hard science"

Not entirely. A lot is based on common sense.

Please understand, god is simply humankinds self imposed answer to the unanswerable. Many years ago, before we knew better some factions of humanity created a god in our image.
Why?
Because as humans we are afraid of the unknown. So, let's make the unknown less frightening. When it pours rain we blame the "Rain God", when the sky rumbles we say Thor is angry. When our loved one dies we say they have gone to heaven, and God and his/her angel Peter is there waiting at the gates to accept them into paradise.

There is NO god....plain and simple....hard for some to accept but do accept it, it's simply common sense.

Faith is good. But, so much less suffering would have visited our earth if faith was spent on something more productive than god.

How about faith in humanity. I fear that when we do meet a supreme being we will be unpleasantly surprised.

I suggest you read the posts on this thread by xyzebra. She/he has brought up a number of excellent points on the existance of god.

Please understand.....there really is no god Virginia.

Personally, I have explained to my oldest child that god is simply a Santa Claus for adults. She now understands god, do you?

Hello Douglas,

I'll stick with the original line from that famous letter to Virginia as it would apply here. My children know there is no Santa Claus but they trust in God.

Psalm 14

God bless.
John
