I guess we have learned the hard way what "floorless convertable" means. But if you look at the big picture, we are still waiting for the big deal. Any deal that will send the stock price up will cause the shorts to cover - no matter who they are. If they never have to, I am not looking forward to any reward.

I did come across "Short Interest Theory" in my Barron's Finance and Investment Handbook. It states: "The theory that a large short interest position presages a rise in the stock price. Also called Cushion Theory. Basically says that the fact that short interest positions must be covered and that this is a source of upward pressure on the stock price."
