Your story about Linda Tripp (and her story for that matter) don't add up. Tripp was not in any danger of committing perjury until AFTER she had uncovered information from Lewinsky about her affair with Clinton. Indeed, it is clear that Tripp WANTED TO KNOW about Lewinsky's affair and she tried to get ML to divulge as much as she would about it. And Tripp was taping ML from the very beginning once she realized that what she had was "hot" (and prior to ever knowing that Paula Jones' lawyers were going to call her and ML to account.) So who told PJ's lawyer's about ML? Why, Tripp is the most likely suspect. Who told Starr about ML? Starr's lawyers admit that Tripp did. So she was never in any "bind" that required her to protect herself; she orchestrated the circumstances herself to achieve the result of getting the President and betraying her "friend." If Tripp was honorable as you allege, she simply would have cut off Monica Lewinsky and said "You know I don't want to talk to you about that." And there would never have been a subpoena for her testimony and there never would have been grand jury testimony. So there would have been no reason to ever begin taping. The facts will bear out that Tripp STARTED TAPING before there was a reason to protect herself. Once that chronology is established, her self-pitying story will fall apart.
