Hello Douglas, << Are you ready to give an intelligent reason for the faith that you have>> My belief was initially based entirely on faith from what I had learned from the bible as an adult, not as a child. Since then, having spent time in the study of the bible and praying, God chose to reveal Himself to me when I did not believe I needed proof of His existence. I have witnessed healings of people that some I'm sure would attribute to other sources such as the power of thought as there is no medical explanation on which to base the occurrence. Additionally, circumstances, answered prayer, conditions that can not be attributable in my mind to natural events have supported my belief in God. I have found as the bible states that God has not changed and that miracles are still worked by Him. I do not refer to bleeding statues or paintings and the like and hold such things in disdain for scriptual reasons. For those that seek a sign from God to prove that He is, the bible states "that a wicked and evil generation seeketh after a sign and none shall be given unto them..." It goes on at length to say that the resurrection will be the only sign given to those people. We have the bible and Christians are given the commission to preach the gospel of repentance and salvation through Jesus. Held in contempt by many and the elation of those that receive the word as truth. There are many claims of healing and God's intervention and of Christians that are given direction in the literal sense by the Holy Spirit. This is as simple a reason as I can give you for my faith. It began with belief and has grown in seeing God's works at first hand. God bless you, John
