Hello Frank. I guess you are already on your way to Kentucky. But just in case you have not left yet, I will answer your post at this time. The markets were holding their own this morning until that stargazer, Arch Crawford, came on. He thought that the market would begin its big crash this afternoon. After that the market went steadily down until it got close to 200 down. But there were really big buy orders for the closing and the market was able to ward off a big loss.
Talk about devaluation, I think in the Brazil currency, did not help either today. Some of our big Banks are in Latin America big time. No comparison to Russia. Maybe next week will bring a little relief to the markets. We will still have lots of volatility but I am hoping for that over 9000 by the end of the year. Too bad there have to be those triple witches in the meantime. Who knows, it may be an up day.

Intel did great in the end. One of those money managers was on, I believe on WSW, and touted Intel as one of the best stocks for the future in high tech. Lot of analyst's also like LU. I have no idea why LU went down almost 5 points at one time. LU got some nice contracts:

Some say the DOW could go down under 7000 if 7400 does not hold. But I am getting to the point soon that I will pick up some more of those good down beaten stocks like Intel, LU and WCOM. Even PFE is on my list for more. One of those analyst's yapped about Viagra having only 80000 prescriptions last time around. Doesn't sound bad to me. Europe and Japan will be there soon and a 95 stock price looks pretty cheap to me. I will check all this stuff out come next Tuesday. It's hard to pick a bottom but those prices look good to me even if the stocks should go down further.

About that plane crash. I don't think that smoke in the cabin did it. I did not know this before, but smoke in the cabin seems to be happening more often than we knew. The pilots signaled an emergency but never a mayday, mayday. Something went wrong big time right at the end. Once they find the black box, we will find out what happened. All that happened near the place where some of the Titanic victims are buried.
About the movie Titanic. I hear that the video is sold out the minute it gets to the store. Many customers have ordered way in advance.

Peter Lynch. I saw him on all the business shows. He keeps saying that the market went down 9 times while he was in charge of Magellan and that he went down 9 times with it. With all that stuff traders can use today (Electronic trading and almost automatic pilot stuff) I am sure that he would have sold more in his days. Maybe not. All I do know is that he is still connected to Fidelity and they trade plenty in and out of the markets. That soothing talk sounds like: Don't listen to what we do, listen to what we say.

Looks like you and I have the only posts on today. Well, maybe not. It is now Sat. here.

Anyhow, a nice weekend to you and all.

Sonny
