Hardrocker, You are correct. I was reading into Karl's post. But... I also think that the majority of utility-based systems that deal with the actual year are farther upstream, in software, not embedded chips. I admit Y2K is real but to think that individual meters and elevators and such need to be inspected I have a problem with. I'm actually familiar with devices that are not Y2K compliant, and those deficiencies are being dealt with through software changes. 52000 candidates... well I wonder how many have not handled their known problems internally.
