I think it is still a good time to short AOL. The market is extremely weak and companies with little earning and highly questionable valuation would get dumped in a hurry in the next sharp market decline. SEC ruling is another frosting on the cake. Beside any technician would point out that AOL chart looks terrible.

Keith:

I too shorted call options on the stock a while back. I kept most of them on, but covered some at the height of pain.

I believe AOL is still tied to the overall market, despite their "questionable accounting" and even more questionable "earnings prospects."

The general public's perception continues to be that AOL is the "blue chip" of the internet, although it boggles my mind that anyone could use blue chip and AOL in the same sentence. As this perception wears off, AOL should gradually decline. But without another test of the DOWs lows and a replay of Monday's panic, I don't believe we will see any rapid erosion of AOL's share price.

However, I do believe that AOL will result in a massive lawsuit before the final chapter is written.

Just my 2 cents.

Regards,
JC
