Ira,
The influence of the shorters posting notes on LBOR and their holding are tiny in the real scheme of things. The shorters are opportunists taking advantage of a falling stock price, they aren't making it fall. I count about five or six SI posters reporting short selling and I would guess their holdings are much less than the amount of stock the CEO and other officers have dumped this year.

Funny you should mention BARRONS. Today's BARRON'S 9/7/98 Issue (page MW8) "Market Watch" lists 12 stocks. LBOR is featured right there alongside "biggies" like Microsoft, IBM, APPLE, COORS, Ethan Allen, Kellogns, Boeing, and American Home Products (Amazon.com is one of the other 11 companies featured).
