<OT> an old golf joke - have no idea where i heard it and apologize for not giving credit where it should be given.

so a man and his wife were 'negotiating' his schedule. he wanted to play golf with his buddy jack on the day they had planned dinner guests. after much 'assurance' that he'd be finished early enough to greet the guests the wife reluctantly agreed. on that day however, the guests arrived and no sign of hubby. they waited half hour - no hubby. finally they had dinner, small talk, more waiting, then the guests left - still no hubby. by now of course the wife was furious so two hours later when hubby showed up - looking beat - she could barely contain herself in asking for his explanation. "honey" he began, "i know i promised i'd be here and i'm very sorry but you won't believe what happened. here we were on the second tee and jack keeled over dead from a heart attack. so here i was, hit the ball....drag jack....hit the ball.....drag jack......."

cheers

gary

<<when i was in high school, i joined the golf team, first time i had ever golfed in my life. i was really frustrated (easy enough to imagine), i had swung at the ball 5 or 6 times barely ticking the ball, it went maybe a total of 3 feet with the 5-6 swings<<

That is what I did. Then in state sectionals our #5 had mono-- you guessed it-- I had to play.

All this Big City high school cheerleaders helping out off 1st tee. Since I was 5-- we went first. My tee shot went 5 feet. I then went up and hit a 3 wood about 200 yards!!! BEST shot I have still EVER had.

It was raining and I lost 16 balls-- made me quit after 9 holes.

I did get a date with one of those Big City girls...

macker,

Your first round doesn't sound unlike mine. P.E. class in high school. I had the same experience minus the good fortune of making contact with the thrown club. I still play the game, but can't get better than 105 (for 18).

Good morning all. Looking forward to a great DGIV day.

Rick

Good Morning Everyone-

Macker.....great story.....I have to remember that one!!!! LOL!!!!! Well when we get together for our first annual DGIV shareholder's meeting/weekend, we will have to keep you in mind to head up the sports activities for that weekend including the golf tournament. If you don't want to golf...that's OK....we need someone to drive the beer cart!!! Only two rules: 1) Keep plenty of beer and other refreshments and; 2) keep the dang cart out of all water hazards!!!! (So we will have to check your Indiana driving record first!!!)

Take care everyone......and hope everybody has a great weekend with their families. I know Mr. D will because he will be up in Truckee and won't be in this 100+ degree heat in Sacramento.

PS.. Being a golf hacker myself, you and Mr. D make me feel pretty good!!! ( VBG)
