More on (moron) Leap Wireless -- often these spin-off distributions will trigger a brief period of "when issued" trading (actually, "when and if issued" trading).

A stock will appear that has the newspaper listing of (something like) : LWII wi. (I am guessing ticker symbol for Leap Wireless Intl. Inc.)

Trading in wi issues does not have the normal 3 business day settlement period. (I think it will eventually settle if and when the spin off takes place (or 3 business days later)).

It also causes weird things to happen with money calculations in a margin account.

If there is wi trading, it will make clear to all of us what the perceived value of Leap actually is.

Jon.
