Marty: Here is a release on production success for Clifton: CLIFTON PRODUCES SILVER AND GOLD BARS Regards Dan ALPINE, UTAH, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - Clifton Mining Company (OTCBB: CFTN and ASE: CFB) wishes to announce that the company has produced its first silver and gold bars from concentrates produced in the Gold Hill Mill and then leached in the silver and gold recovery plant. ''This successful completion of putting raw ore in one side of the mill and getting silver and gold bars out of the other is a milestone in the company's history,'' said Mr. Moeller, adding ''We have said we could do it and now we have.'' Clifton is also pleased to announce that most of the bugs have been worked out of the new silver and gold recovery plant which has just come on-stream in August of 1998. So far, approximately 1,100-1,200 ounces have been extracted from concentrates in the new recovery plant, with more currently in the system. The first eight silver and gold bars were delivered to Handy & Harman Refining Group, Inc. for refining and sale. Please see the picture of the first bars located on our web-site, under ''Picture Of The Week''. Clifton is pleased to announce that work on Clifton's new Woodman properties has produced very positive results. The work so far has centered on two of the new properties, the Frankie (a high-grade copper property) and the Cane Springs group (a high-grade gold property). As metals prices have fallen, it has been the company's intention to develop high-grade mines close to the mill, as well as to continue to develop the Clifton Shear Zones, which we expect will meet the long-term ore needs of the company. Eight of the working mine faces inside the Frankie mine have been chip-sampled so far. The eight samples averaged 0.053 oz/ton gold and 6.63% copper, with the highest copper sample assaying at 17.82%. The vein in the upper level averages 5-7 feet wide and it expands to a width of 15 feet wide as it reaches the lower mine workings. Although copper is not the company's main emphasis right now, this property may add great value to the company in the future. The Cane Springs mine is the most exciting of the properties in the Woodman group. It has produced thousands of tons of gold ore, which smelter records show had average gold values of over 0.5 oz/ton. Clifton has been looking for additional near-surface gold deposits adjacent to the historical mine workings, as well as looking at the logistics of de-watering the main mine which flooded while the mine was in full production. Ninety-two chip samples have been taken so far in the Cane Springs mine area. Of the 92 samples, 20 have assayed at greater than 0.04 oz/ton in gold, 12 samples have assayed at greater than 0.10 oz/ton in gold, 7 samples have assayed at greater than 0.20 oz/ton in gold and five samples assayed at greater than 0.40 in gold. The highest sample of the 92, was taken right above the water level where the old mining stopped and assayed at 0.998 oz/ton in gold, 4.96 oz/ton in silver and also 10.15% copper.
