Re: Savage seems competitive to this layman but not the blow out we hoped for.

SIII is very competitive - comes a shootout, their 0.25um chip will beat out other people's 0.35um chips. Not to mention they can do with 8M vs 16M RAMs. They can drop the price and make all the other guys suck air. And I bet you they are doing exactly that right now. At the OEM level, much less at the higher end retail gaming level, pricing really counts.

I for one am not counting this stock out yet. The only scary part to me is we are staring down the year end tax selling pretty soon. Which one wins - year end tax selling vs good news that Savage has successfully ramped?

Hi David, Jerry and George,

David- Here's the article you mentioned: techweb.com

I saw it a few days ago but it didn't strike me as a major event one way or the other. They may end up being the next INTC, but a lot of really bad things can happen to start ups in their first few years.

David & Jerry- As I remember, IBM first announced the copper technology about a year ago, so it's taking them nearly a year and a half of R&D to get a product to market. My guess would also be that the cost would probably be prohibitive in the current market. I don't think a few frames per second is going to sell a $300 chip. Especially if that few frames per second is only on one game. IMO it's the guys with the $200-$300 chips that are going to get hammered in the next six months. Next years $300 chip will be the one that separates the men from the boys. It'll have to be at least 50% faster than anything on the market today to even get an honorable mention. Maybe copper and better insulation will do the trick but I'll close my eyes and guess that would be a product close to two years out.

George-Yep,...well....I usually try to behave myself better in a public forum. At least stick to the kings English. That last paragraph just sort of slipped out while I wasn't looking. I suppose I could have edited it out during the preview stage but I just couldn't find anything wrong with it. The volume can drop to 10 shares a day and the MMs can starve to death before they'll get another 1/32 out of me.

Regards,

Don
