Re: - "Intel is precariously sitting on a house of cards, waiting to tumble."

Which one of the Intel contenders will do the "tumbeling?" Will they all take little bitty bites, like piranhas united for the strike?

This is scary stuff for all us faithful Intel owners to worry about <vbg>,
humble carl

Re: "To date, Intel has been able to maintain a price structure for CPU's based on large price premiums for small increases in clock speed. The price of CPU's goes up exponentially above 333 MHz. Without this price structure, Intel would be in very serious trouble. Intel is precariously sitting on a house of cards, waiting to tumble."

A very interesting thing happened at my place of business today. A co-worker who currently own's a 486 said she was so delighted to find out that the price of PC's are so affordable that she was able to buy one for her self and one for her sister they were PII 333MHz with 64mg of ram and 8.something Gig drives with 17" monitors and two scanners to boot. So I started wondering how many people out there still own 486's who are now ready to upgrade?

How many people said their so affordable I'll buy two about AMD or CYRX?

P.S. Her sister already has a laptop for what it's worth and of course her sister is paying her back monthly.
