Paul,

You are missing the point.

The point is that (due to competition) Intel is having a harder and harder time keeping their margins up. They have even resorted to building their own low "margin dollar" parts.

The only hope for Intel to keep their competitors at bay, is to sell low "margin dollar" parts. Clearly this hurts both the competition and INTC investors.
