So many people - who have lost so much money in Cyrix/NSM and AMD - keep thinking that Intel's success has been due to only luck. They continue to fool themselves ! Paul

IBM then chose 8088 for its PC but there were competitors like NEC which has plug compatible chips(V20, V30, V40) to boost the performance, very much like Cyrix, AMD today. I bought the NEC-V20 but it locked up running certain games so I reinstalled my 8088-4.77 MHz. I think I actually have it in the plastic static tube in a drawer next to my computer in case someone wants to pay the Big Bucks for obsolete technology (please reply to this messages if you are so foolish...).
