Maybe we should call these pretenders to the Intel throne the court jesters. What the hey, kings of medieval times enjoyed having those little fellers with pointy hats and curly'd up shoes mumbling and stumbling and squealing and in general making fools of themselves. Sounds just like the Intel competition to me.

Yes, but...

The court jester was allowed to say things, under the guise of humor, that would have had others executed. This means that the jester occupied a position of considerable power as he could issue unpopular warnings to the king. The Fool used to be a title of at least some respect.
