If that were the case I would expect that LU would grab them now. Remember that the pooling of interests does not preclude buying the company. It just makes it a taxable transaction for s/h of the acquired company. But given the huge downdraft in TLAB (it is trading at about a 52 week low!) I doubt that most investors would need to cough up much in the way of taxes.
