NW Bronco Fan,

From my understanding...
The "contract" with Rockwell that you are referring
to is as follows: Since the agreement,
Rockwell has been paying Pairgain ~$2m/qtr until
the end of 1998. Beginning in 1999
Pairgain will start receiving royalties from sales
of Rockwell ADSL modems based on Pairgain's Falcon
chipset. The quarterly payments will go away, but
the revenue stream from the royalties should more
than make up the difference.

Best Regards,
Chicago

NW Bronco Fan, I can only add to Chicago's comments to each of the following with:

<The bigger influence must be the uncertainty about the 2 RFPs outstanding and what percent of business PAIR gets.>

The MMs and market does not like uncertainty.

<...Rockwell relationship...>

PAIR currently enjoys a $2M per quarter royalty from Rockwell to continue development, testing, and rollout of a modem using the Falcon chip. This will end 4Q 98 and transition to a more lucrative licensing program.

<...no news...>

Yes, PAIR PR has done a very poor job with news announcements. At a bare minimum, they could have cut and pasted from their newsletter.
