Daytraders usually start closing their positions 30min before the close.

That said, I find it hard to believe that short-covering by daytraders could cause the SP500 to surge 1.5% points in just 30 minutes.

Hi RD,

I was watching both the DOW and the futures. The futures rose first, IMO. A service I take saw large orders come into the futures both yesterday and today....their conclusion is that it is AG's PPT. I am starting to believe them.

I felt that if we had another large >100 point down day today, we would see a melt on Tuesday....now I doubt it but I think Tuesday might be down anyway. If someone is spiking the markets...it will not alter the long term course of the markets.
