Too early by half for House Republicans. Now what do they do? If they hold the report through the November elections, they look like they're doing it for political gain. If they move forward on it, they are in serious jeopardy of negating the advantage they've gained on the congressional elections. This is tremendously bad timing.

On top of that, there are going to be open battles between Gingrich, Hyde on the one hand and Delay, Barr on the other over how quickly to move. Newt knows this could explode in his face. Delay and Barr think they can take the ball and run on the President. Fat chance of that happening with the President holding a strong hand still.
