I have uncovered a significant error in G. House Summary Report. It is scary what a little research will uncover! In the G. House Summary report, House made the following statement: "It is worth noting that in the Andacollo area the "manto" deposits are located in favourable horizons upto 5.0 kilometers distant from the Andacollo porphyry copper deposit, which is believed to have been the source of the hydrothermal fluids which deposited the "mantos". This distance of "manto" deposits from the source of hydrothermal fluids is not a problem-it is the availablity of favorable permeable volcanic horizons in the country rock.." This statement was based on an outdated geology model for the Andacollo area. A newer model, published in Eonomic Geology, Vol 91, 1996, pp 1298-1309 proved conclusively that, in fact, the source of the hydrothermal fluids which formed the mantos deposits did not come from the porphyry deposits some 5 kilometers but from a yet undiscovered intrusive pluton directly undernealth the mantos deposits. The mantos deposits are some 17 million years "younger" than the porphyry deposit. Geochemical studies as to temperature and sality of the hythermal fluid proves it could not have come from the porphyry deposit. The earlier model did not take geochemistry in to account and the major block displacements of some 600 meters that occurred due to numerous faulting in the are which made understanding the stratigraphy very difficult. Why is this important? House draws an anology between Andicollo and the connection between Lapangue and Las Dos Marias Stockworks/Mantos deposits suggesting a connection between the two. I believe when geochemical studies are done, there will, in fact, be no connection. Hythermal minerlization appears to mostly occur directly above the intrusion based on model developed in 1980 for Red Mountain Arizonia. I think there are two separate intrusions-one that formed that breccia pipe and one that formed the Las Dos Marias stockworks. The good news out of all of this is that is that I believe there is likely two viable gold deposits there. Found out some other neat stuff about our Andicollo properties that I will share later.
