Michelle,

I think I've raised a number of salient issues, most of which have been ignored...which is fine. However, you are right in that I did/do believe that distribution models - no matter how efficient or innovative are fundamentally easier to replicate than software or hardware technology.

Question though. Why did you bring up Amazon? What makes them so unique? Remember during the gold rush the poeple that made the big $$$ were the businesses selling supplies to the miners..not the miners themselves. I see the infrastructure companies as the miners. Folks that sell products on the web (especially something like books or CD's) are just miners. DELL is currently somewhere in between in my mind...although I'm still evaluating your early post regarding ERP.
