B, I was looking for a reason for that rapid reversal, so I came across that tidbit from briefing.com. It seemed reasonable. I suspect that your spin on "defending the market" is "defending their liveihood". I also think that many folks didn't want to remain short over the weekend, so they covered. Lisa mentioned 970 on S&P, and we moved back over that, but this market still remains weak, and these rallies, compared with what we're used to from "da bull" days, just seem like the market's going throught the motions. However, that was an impressive reversal nonetheless, and there may be some follow through on Tuesday. Regards,
