Philip Morris, makers of Camel and other leading brands, and Lorillard, the makers of Newport brand cigarettes, were unavailable for comment late Friday .

Did anyone else see this? MO makes Camels! Damn, I must be invested in the wrong company, and this must be the wrong thread! Is Reuters really this bad on accuracy of what they report? Talk about accountability. If MO were selling camels, I'd be running for the hills. All the cookies in the world (Nabisco) can't help the camel get the straw off its back!

Yesterday's debut of the the new companies proved this to be a demerger worth doing. The shares that were valued at 577p on Friday night reappeared in their new, two quote form, with prices which, by the close equated to almost 630p.
