Steve,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the sense that with
_new_ Core Builder (the 9000) , COMS is getting
a strong foot into backbone terroritry, something they said they didn't want to do since it's "inside the edge" strategy is a
big wide open field as it is...and COMS doesn't want to collide
to much with CSCO at this point in time.

I have a feeling that if they are successful with their new
product transition in the next year, that getting inside
the backbone area is inevitable. They eventually will compete
(and do well as you mentioned by price, etc.) on a head to head competition with CSCO. It's hard to believe, but there
is a chance that COMS could "eat CSCO's lunch" in 1-3 years.

Also, a connection I have in China/HK has told me that COMS
is actually involved in some aspects of building products
for the "core" space of the telecom equipment industry. They
will be a key player in China's development of their National
VOIP telecom system. So, not only will COMS dominate
the lower end network Asian markets, but they will be ready
and on par with the rest of the big players in China
telecom. HOT STUFF!!!
