One of my favorite films is "Wall Street" with Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. Even though the film is 12 years old, the behind the scene portrayal of market sharks seems fresh as I learn more everyday about the mechanism of the markets.

It's interesting see how these characters struggle with the ethics of capitalism and of 'doing the deal' at any cost: How much is enough?

Rent the tape this weekend- if you think you have the stomach for it after this past week and won't get stressed out.

Have you read the writings of Richard Ney? I recently came across a thread discussing his perspective on stock manipulation by market makers and brokers, I think you will find it revealing:

One of the more recent posts there says Ney believes the market is at it's bottom and should trend up now (ie: the market makers have gathered back all the shares they can and will want to sell them back to us at a higher price.) <I have my doubts about the bottom here though.>
