I wandered on to this from the CYCH thread, After I read it and caught your post on the Conference, I wondered if...
1) Checkfree's solution will eliminate these kind of problems (software based /vs./web based)
2) From the banks standpoint, Competition in the business will force them to update to retain their customers.
3) The writer of the article put his own "spin" on it.

you and i agree on most things
you are just a tad more optimistic than me
i think that lots of folks, espcially street traders
think that tech could tank big time
as the market falters
you and i both know that the net
will still grow
and it has very little asian or latin exposure
and we both know that the ramp up curve is just starting
but as the conference summary said
could take 1-2 quarters for these numbers to hit the street
i still think that we are going to bounce around at the bottom
and yes i am adding slowly at these levels
no question that in 1-2 years we will be far higher
this will be one of the few predictable net stocks
will be like the philip morris of the internet
people got to smoke, people got to write checks
after gates and company get through with alzheimers-gate
banks will see bill gates like a successful bill clinton
successful, confident--but a liar none the less
do you want him holding your money?
i still think ckfr will be seen as the neutral market leader
