You are correct. In fact Rukeyser went over that last night and stated that within a few months of Nixon's resignation came the second greatest buying opportunity in the last quarter century.

And Nixon was a consequential President, highly respected internationally, unlike Clinton.

A Resignation would be a relief compared to a long drawn-out impeachment. Perhaps, Clinton could take a clue from Nixon and declare that he will resign in "Piece with Honor".
